Competition for the extension of Chateauneuf School

FANFAN is a simple and direct project. The new volume brings the place together. The new volume cantilevers off the existing structure. Its position follows the logic of the site, integrating itself with the neighboring building. The cantilevered element clearly defines the new entrance way and is in direct communication with the existing volumes. It’s orientation, facing directly onto the gym, creates a new outdoor space between the buildings. A possible future extension to the school would be to increase the height of the new building.
