Project in progress

The craft brewery at the heart of the Valais – at the heart of its people.

Brasserie Valaisanne is committed to producing artisanal beers in the Valais, with passion and without compromise. This philosophy is inspired by the rigors of alpine life and embodies the strong character of the Valais people. No path is too steep, no slope too steep.

When La Valaisanne organised a competition to develop its new brewery in Vétroz, the goal was to stay true to its philosophy: with passion and without compromise. In this image, the architecture of the plant is conceived as an expression of the beer production process: the delivery and production stages – all brought together on the first floor – determine the programmatic distribution on the ground and the different parts of the building, whose heights vary according to their use and the equipment required.

All construction details and materials are designed to meet the twofold objective set by the client: to enhance the value of craftsmanship at every stage of production, and to provide ergonomic, hygienic and safe working conditions for employees.

For the construction phase, a nationwide call for general contractors was issued. The planning team of mijong finalizes the design for the building with the project owner, while the general contractor handles the construction and coordinates the installation of the brewery equipment. A safety specialist is in charge of optimizing safety processes within the planning and construction processes. This interdisciplinary development, led by the project owner responsible for coordination, has enabled a collective intelligence to emerge, enabling quality and efficiency.

With passion: The brewery is a human experience, with human and technical processes at its heart. This adventure reflects La Valaisanne’s philosophy and reveals the need for a culture of sustainable change in construction – to move norms and standards towards a more sustainable world.
