Research centre on the alpine and polar environment EPFL, Sion
The new facade of the CENTRE FOR THE STUDY OF THE CHANGE OF ALPINE AND POLAR ENVIRONMENTS offers a new living and meeting place for the campus, which is spread over aerial facades. Its slender silhouette positions the research centre in the Alps and its glaciers. The team proposes to plant the new vertical structure and to pack the existing building in green. This new skin is dedicated to informal exchanges and experimental, professional and human appropriation and contributes to the campus identity. It becomes the green light of the EPFL Antenna. The new skin of the building makes it possible to make it an energy self-sufficient building. Natural elements are the primary resources and feed the building as a whole.
